Fastpass Tips
Fastpass System
This is a great thing that Disney has come up with to reduce the amount of time guests are required to spend in line at the most popular attractions.

Visit each park page to see which attractions operate under the Fastpass system. Below are some tips for using the Fastpass system:

*You must insert a park pass for each member of your party riding the attraction. You will receive a Fastpass ticket and a return time (usually a 1 hour time period).
*If the ride shuts down for inclement weather or is having technical difficulties they will usually honor them later in the day.
*Think before getting a Fastpass. You cannot get another Fastpass until your current ones runs out (your ticket will show you what time another ticket is available). Make sure this is an attraction worth a Fastpass.
*Be mindful of the queue lines. If the stand-by queue is 20 minutes or shorter it is not worth your time to get a Fastpass and then double back to return to ride it. Think of it this way sometimes the Fastpass line itself can be 20 minutes. Don't waste your time and a Fastpass ticket if you don't need to.
*Make sure to get a Fastpass for popular attractoins first (ie. Space Mountain, Expedition Everest). If you do not get these early in the day you run the risk of not getting a Fastpass later in the day. If you plan on going during a busy time of the year this will happen!
*The nice thing is that after you get a Fastpass you literally can go and do something else. Go eat lunch or ride an attraction with a shorter wait time.
*Because your ticket is required to get a Fastpass, make sure you hold on to your ticket after entering the park. Only tickets use to enter the park can be used to get a Fastpass.
*If you arrive at a ride around 10am and the wait time is 15 mintues and you see the return time for the current Fastpass is 10:05 to 11:05 am; get a Fastpass, get in line, ride it and then ride it again using your Fastpass ticket.
Breeze through the lines!

Vacation Tips
*When at the parks be attentive. Be aware of what is going on at an attraction. For instance, the Enchanted Tiki Room show has just let out and there is a large amount of people going straight for Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride (the closest to the Tiki Birds). Wait a few minutes and the line will die down.
*Best days to visit the Parks on your vacation? The least crowded days at WDW are Fridays and Sundays. It has been shown most families visit the parks Monday through Thursday. Of course, it does not really matter much if you are visiting Walt Disney World around the holidays or spring break.

*Which line to choose? Ever wonder which line to choose when you are given an option of left or right? Always choose the left. Since predominantly most people are right handed we tend to always veer to the right. Think of this next time you are presented with a choice.

*Use your time wisely. Eat during off hours (lunch - 11-11:30am and dinner at 4:30pm) This will save you the aggrevation of dealing with all the people. You can enjoy a relaxing lunch or dinner. Visit the Dining page for more tips.
*Use Disney's Automated phone line. You can always call Walt Disney World before your vacation begins to find out park hours. Operating hours at the parks change seasonally and sometimes daily. They will also give you information about nightly entertainment at the parks (ie. fireworks, Illuminations, parades). Visit the Parks page for more information.
*Take adavantage of the Parent/Guardian Switch program at the parks on your next vacation. Guests with young children may take turns experiencing attractions. You all stand in line together then at some point when you are getting on the ride the other parent/guardian is given a pass and they are escorted to the exit to wait for the other parent. When they arrive the parent/guardian can then ride the ride without having to wait in the line again. See a cast member for additional information.
